Depending on your needs, we select the most suitable cooling solution for cooling a server room or individual racks. Cooling can be implemented with cold liquid or refrigerant. For targeted cooling, cabinets can be grouped into hot or cold aisles.
In a corridor solution, cold or hot air is enclosed in a corridor between the rows of racks. By installing CoolTeg Plus In-Row cooling units as part of the cabinet rows or CoolTop coolers on top of the cabinets, cooling can be targeted to the equipment to be cooled.
Hot spots can be prevented by targeting the cooling and effectively isolating the cold and hot air from each other.
In-Row cooling units provide cooling solutions for High Density environments where capacities of up to 40 kW per rack are required.
In a Closed Loop system hot and cold air circulate inside the racks and In-Row coolers so that the hot and cold air do not mix. Cooling is achieved with CoolTeg Plus In-Row cooling units installed between the cabinets or with CoolSeven cooler installed inside the cabinet. This method is typically used to cool a few cabinets. If there are more than six cabinets, a hot or cold aisle solution is usually more effective.
If the heat load is less than 2 kW, the heat is removed from the cabinet using energy-efficient EC fans. In this case, it should be noted that the heat is removed from the space by another system.
The most traditional method of cooling Data Centers is to use standard computer room air handling units (CRAHs), which blow cold air under a raised floor from which it is directed to the front of the racks, or alternatively directly along the floor to the front of the racks. The equipment in the racks draws cool air from in front of the racks and hot air comes out from behind the racks. Combining this method with cold or hot aisle structures makes it energy efficient solution.
Cooling with CRAH units alone cannot provide enough capacity for High Density environments but may need to be supplemented by In-Row cooling units.
In a water-cooled system, the production of cold water is preferably done by free cooling using the cool air outside. When the outdoor temperature gets too high, compressors are needed to help.
In some buildings, district cooling can be used instead of mechanical cooling. A back-up system should be provided for district cooling.
For refrigerant cooling, outdoor condensers are required in addition to compressors.
