MP-Maustepalvelu Oy’s Data Center had come to the end of its life and IT Manager Jarno Kääpä felt the need to implement a new high-availability solution to support their new virtualization environment. The available space was quite limited, and the solution had to be very compact, yet feature rich.
DCI Solutions Ltd proposed the DCI Microdata Center and its version with a compact 7U cooling unit, Conteg CoolSeven, inside the server cabinet. In the solution, the same closed air circulation cabinet can house a UPS system with batteries and a gas extinguishing system. An indoor unit counterpart is installed outside to condense the heat generated by the servers. The system cools only the ICT equipment, not the whole room, making it very energy efficient. The system is automated and can be managed remotely for security.
“The compact one-cabinet system supplied by DCI Solutions is very well suited to our needs,” says Jarno Kääpä.
DCI’s total delivery included the server cabinet, the cooling solution with indoor and outdoor units, power distribution, power backup with UPS, gas extinguishing system, environmental monitoring, and emergency opening system.
